Tina Fazendine, NCPERS Secretary, is the Insurance and Retirement Services Manager for the City of Tulsa, Human Resources
Department. She has over 22 years public employee service with the City of Tulsa, with 12 of those years concentrated in the
field of benefits management. In addition to managing the Municipal Employee's Retirement Plan (MERP), she administers the
City's deferred compensation and insurance programs. Her current responsibilities and experience include policy development,
contract language development and negotiations, cost benefits analysis, implementation and communication of retirement and
insurance plan improvements, procedures and computer enhancement developments. Ms. Fazendine has a considerable knowledge
and experience of the methods, practices and techniques used in the administration and management of comprehensive retirement
and insurance programs. She regularly speaks at local pension fund seminars. Most recent achievements include the development
and implementation of a partial lump sum distribution option for municipal employees and the city's first comprehensive
retirement statement. In addition, she is currently a member of the Tulsa Employee Benefits Group. Tina is a member of the
NCPERS Executive Board where she serves as a member of the Budget, Credentials, Elections, Education, and Program Committees
as well as a member of the NCPERS Task Force on Health Care Benefits.
