Stephan G. Fugate

Stephan G. Fugate entered the Baltimore City Fire Department in July of 1974 initially assigned to the southern edge of Downtown Baltimore within sight of what is now Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Promoted to Lieutenant in 1979 and Captain in 1983, he is now serving in his fourteenth year as president of the Baltimore Fire Officers' Association, IAFF Local 964. He has worked toward enhanced pension benefits in cooperation with the Baltimore Fire Fighters' Local 734 and the Baltimore Fraternal Order of Police for more than two decades. Mr. Fugate has been the elected, active Fire Department Trustee for twelve years and for eleven years as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Baltimore's Fire & Police Employees' Retirement System as well as a member of the system's Investment Committee. Steve is a member of the NCPERS Executive Board where he serves as Co-chairman of the Education Committee and as a member of the Legislative and Investment Committees.
