Stacy Birdwell

Louisiana

Stacy Birdwell, a trustee on Louisiana's statewide Firefighters Retirement System, serves as chairman of the system's Investment Committee, which oversees the billion-plus dollars in assets of the system. Stacy also chairs the Personnel Committee for the system. He is a captain and 29-year veteran of the Shreveport Fire Department. He is president of Shreveport Fire Fighters Association Local 514, having served in every position in his 20-plus years of holding office in his local union. Stacy is the secretary-treasurer of the Professional Fire Fighters Association of Louisiana and past secretary-treasurer and trustee of the Southern Federation of Professional Fire Fighters. As a registered state lobbyist, Stacy has spent more than two decades promoting firefighter interests in his home state of Louisiana. For more than 18 years he has been the administrator of the Shreveport Fire Fighters Benevolent Fund. He sits as a trustee for the Fire Fighter Cancer Foundation. Stacy is a member of the NCPERS Executive Board, where he serves on the Investment Committee and the Audit Committee.
