NCPERS Elects New Officers for 2004-2005
NCPERS also elected new officers and executive board members 2004-2005, as it completed this year’s Annual Conference in Anaheim, CA.
Robert Podgorny of Chicago, IL, was elected president for a one-year term. Podgorny completed a 33-year career with the Chicago Police Force in 2003 and was an officer for the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #7. He was instrumental in obtaining collective bargaining rights for the police officers of Chicago. He also has extensive experience with medical and health related issues and disabilities of Chicago police officers.
Also elected to one-year terms were members of the 15-member Executive Board and four additional officers: Pat McElligott of Tacoma, WA, first vice president; Mel Aaronson of New York, NY, second vice president; Tina Fazendine of Tulsa, OK, secretary; and Richard Wachsman of Dallas, TX, treasurer. Elmer J. Khal of Cleveland, OH will be immediate past president.
Elected as members of the NCPERS Executive Board were the following individuals: Larry Curran (MA), Daniel Fortuna (IL), Kelly L. Fox (WA), Stephan G. Fugate (MD), Rick Gale (WI), Dan Givens (FL), Ronald Gracia (MI), Kenneth Hauser (IL), Jeannie Knox (OH), Bill Lundy (AR), Donald L. Phillips (MI), Will Pryor (CA), John Reilly (PA), Mona Romain (NY), and Serena W. Tenant (PA).
