This week, NCPERS Legislative Conference was held in person for the first time since 2020 as nearly 150 representatives from public pension funds, unions, retiree groups, and service providers gathered in Washington, DC.
The provisions included in the recently passed SECURE 2.0 act were a key area of focus for attendees, as panelists shared insights into the how the bill will impact public pensions and discussed what may be considered for the next iteration.
Panelists also discussed the outlook on Washington following a chaotic start to the year for House lawmakers and shared a state-by-state analysis of issues that may impact public pensions.
In conjunction with the Legislative Conference, NCPERS also released its 2023 Legislative Issues Book.
