The California State Teachers' Retirement System Retirement Readiness Division is seeking to fill its Assistant Director of Retirement Readiness position. The Retirement Readiness (RR) Division is the principal area of the organization that develops, delivers, and coordinates educational services to CalSTRS members. The goal of RR is to ensure that all members receive adequate, timely, and accurate information to make sound decisions regarding their CalSTRS benefits.
As a part of CalSTRS senior leadership, the Assistant Director of Retirement Readiness is responsible for policy formulation, implementation, leadership, and administration of defined contribution programs, member education programs, field planning operations, member and employer outreach activities, and statewide stakeholder engagement. The CalSTRS Financial Services Division is seeking a motivated individual to work as an Accounting Officer (Specialist) on the Accounting Billings & Collections Team. Under the general supervision of the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor), the Accounting Officer (AO) independently performs accounting duties that are considered average in difficulty within the Billings unit. Duties will include verifying members' accounts, ensuring accurate calculations for costs and purchase amounts of all types of purchase service credits (SCPs), perform quality assurance procedures to validate calculations prepared by other staff, and evaluating impacts to retirement calculations. The AO will assist with tracking and reporting monthly statistical data for Billings Unit while identifying problematic areas and proposing alternatives or recommendations. The incumbent will also participate in system projects and tasks that impact the unit, which includes the Pension Solution (PS) Project.

The CalSTRS Enterprise Risk & Financial System Support Division is seeking a motivated individual to work as a Financial Accountant II on the BusinessDirect System Support Team. The BusinessDirect System Support (BDSS) Unit provides functional and technical support to all business users of the CalSTRS Enterprise Resource Planning System, an SAP solution internally called BusinessDirect (BD); manages the complete lifecycle of the implementation of system fixes and enhancements to BD, including analysis, solution recommendations, requirements gathering, functional design specifications, testing and production releases; ensures the BD system is meeting the needs of the organization through interface monitoring, transaction management and streamlined reporting.

The CalSTRS Enterprise Strategy Management Division is seeking a motivated individual to work as a Research Data Analyst II on the Survey Research & Analysis Team. City of Cincinnati Retirement System
The City of Cincinnati, is seeking a Retirement Executive Director to lead the Cincinnati Retirement System (CRS). CRS includes a single employer defined benefit Pension Plan for general employees that includes a deferred retirement option program (DROP), and a retiree health care benefits. Combined Pension Trust and OPEB Trust assets are $2.2B. CRS serves approximately 3,000 active members and 4,300 pensioners.
The Retirement Executive Director is appointed by and reports to the City Manager. The Retirement Executive Director is responsible for providing the support and guidance necessary for the Board to discharge its fiduciary responsibilities to plan participants and ensure that CRS administers the complex benefits structure accurately. This role will direct a staff of fourteen through five direct reports.

Contra Costa County Employees' Retirement Association
Contra Costa County Employees' Retirement Association (CCCERA) is currently recruiting a Senior Investment Analyst to join a small team that oversees a public pension plan portfolio of approximately $10 billion. This will be a generalist role but have a primary focus on Private Equity, which has a target allocation of 13%. He/she will work closely with the Senior Investment Officer in the implementation and monitoring of a direct private equity strategy. They will support due diligence efforts, assist in quantitative and qualitative analysis of new and existing managers, and conduct detailed performance and portfolio analysis. In collaboration with our Private Equity consultant, StepStone, CCCERA is focused on building a high-quality direct Private Equity program. District of Columbia Retirement Board
The District of Columbia Retirement Board (“DCRB”) is seeking to fill a newly created position: Senior Investment Funds & Compliance Counsel (Senior Investment Counsel).
The Senior Investment Counsel will be responsible for working directly with and providing legal advice and opinions to DCRB's Chief Investments Officer (CIO), Executive Director, and the Investments team staff. The Senior Investment Counsel's primary focus will be to provide legal advice in all matters of investments, including applicable laws, regulations, investment processes, and compliance. The Senior Investment Counsel also will work closely with DCRB's Investments team and portfolio managers to negotiate and implement strategic investment opportunities in compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
DCRB is responsible for the investment of funds and administration of benefits for over 14,000 retirees and 10,000, members for the District of Columbia Teachers' Retirement Plan and the District of Columbia Police Officers and Firefighters' Retirement Plan (collectively “Plan members”).

The Senior Investment Operations Manager will assist the Deputy Director of Investment Operations in implementing and maintaining the investment operational infrastructure to support the PFRSNJ's investment program. PERA is seeking an Information Security Lead / Information Technology Specialist 5. PERA's Information Security Lead is the agency's cybersecurity technical expert and assists the Chief Information Officer in overseeing information risk management for the organization. The Information Security Lead is responsible for establishing and maintaining the enterprise vision, strategy, and security program to ensure information assets and technologies are adequately protected. This position will lead the development, implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive information security management plan, agency security policies, and plans to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all information systems and data.
This role will:
- Set the agency's information security strategy and define objectives and metrics to measure the success of the information security plan
- Develop security architectures and roadmaps to protect the agency's IT infrastructure, applications and data
- Lead the creation of agency wide information security policies, processes, standards, guidelines and training
- Identify security risks and solutions for migration
- Manage, monitor and report on the strength of the agency's security controls
- Stay abreast of the latest security trends and threats to our business and assess potential impact on the security architecture
Once new hire training is complete, this position will primarily be telework. It is expected that in office hours will be at least one day a week on a biweekly basis for leadership meetings and then on an as needed basis as work dictates. Cost associated with travel to and from the office is the employee's responsibility.

March 2023 Public Pension Hiring Announcements
CalSTRS
The California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTSR), the world's largest educator-only pension fund, announced the selection of Lamont King as its first deputy general counsel in a press release.
In the newly created position, King oversees CalSTRS' three assistant general counsels: investment counsel, litigation services and legal services. The deputy general counsel is the liaison between the general counsel and the assistant general counsels and will focus on internal workflow, leadership and legal guidance. Prior to King's appointment, he was CalSTRS' assistant general counsel and oversaw the investments counsel since December 2020. King began his CalSTRS career in 2010 and has worked with every business area and provided legal support for many sensitive and complex projects within the organization. After three years as a staff attorney, King was promoted to senior investment counsel in 2013.
