Baltimore City Fire and Police Employees' Retirement System ?
We are pleased to assist Our client, the Baltimore City Fire and Police Employees' Retirement System (BCFPERS or the System) in finding their next Executive Director. BCFPERS is the administrator of a single employer defined benefit local government retirement plan. The System provides normal monthly retirement benefits as well as death and disability payments. BCFPERS is a component unit of the City of Baltimore. As of June 30, 2022, the System held assets under management of $2.96B.
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer and reports directly to the Board. The Executive Director manages the day-to-day operations of the System, including administration of benefits. The role effectively manages all funds, makes sound investment decisions and collaborates with strategic partners, service providers, stakeholders. The Executive Director leads a current staff complement of 30, composed of 25 full-time employees and 5 contractors.

The CalSTRS Financial Services Branch is seeking a motivated individual to work as an Accounting Analyst on the Disbursements/Pension Accounts Payable Team. Under the supervision of the Accounting Administrator II (AA II) of the Pension Accounts Payable unit, the Accounting Analyst processes and reconciles payments for benefits, taxes, insurance, dues, and other distributions. The incumbent processes and reissues returned warrants, both Electric Fund Transfer (EFT) and paper; tracks and processes lost warrants, processes Non-Periodic claims and payment runs, monitors Interface 41, maintains the EFT returns to the General Ledger (GL), monitors the Accounts Payable (AP) email folder and processes EFT tracers.

The CalSTRS Accounting Division is seeking a motivated individual to work as a Lead Accounts Payable Pension Administrator (Financial Accountant I), on the Disbursements/Pension Accounts Payable Team. Under the general supervision of the Accounting Administrator II, the Financial Account I (FA l) is considered a staff specialist performing technical and professional financial and investment accounting activities related to the Pension Accounts Payable (A/P) unit. As the Lead Accounts Payable Pension Administrator, the FA I leads the unit in forecasting expenses, analyzing complex payments, risk management assessments, and finding solutions to issues related to the financial system, SAP and START for benefit payment transactions. The FA I is also responsible for reviewing and leading efforts to implement complex transactions to benefit disbursements, while ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), financial institutions, the State Controller's Office, Teacher's Retirement Law, state legislature, audit findings, system modifications, and new accounting requirements. The incumbent is considered a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and primary contributor to the Pension Solution Project and tasked with ensuring complex data clean-up, conversion and reconciliation are performed accurately and efficiently.

City of Cincinnati Retirement System
The City of Cincinnati, is seeking a Retirement Executive Director to lead the Cincinnati Retirement System (CRS). CRS includes a single employer defined benefit Pension Plan for general employees that includes a deferred retirement option program (DROP), and a retiree health care benefits. Combined Pension Trust and OPEB Trust assets are $2.2B. CRS serves approximately 3,000 active members and 4,300 pensioners.
The Retirement Executive Director is appointed by and reports to the City Manager. The Retirement Executive Director is responsible for providing the support and guidance necessary for the Board to discharge its fiduciary responsibilities to plan participants and ensure that CRS administers the complex benefits structure accurately. This role will direct a staff of fourteen through five direct reports.

The District of Columbia Retirement Board (“DCRB”) is seeking to fill a newly created position: Senior Investment Funds & Compliance Counsel (Senior Investment Counsel).
The Senior Investment Counsel will be responsible for working directly with and providing legal advice and opinions to DCRB's Chief Investments Officer (CIO), Executive Director, and the Investments team staff. The Senior Investment Counsel's primary focus will be to provide legal advice in all matters of investments, including applicable laws, regulations, investment processes, and compliance. The Senior Investment Counsel also will work closely with DCRB's Investments team and portfolio managers to negotiate and implement strategic investment opportunities in compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
DCRB is responsible for the investment of funds and administration of benefits for over 14,000 retirees and 10,000, members for the District of Columbia Teachers' Retirement Plan and the District of Columbia Police Officers and Firefighters' Retirement Plan (collectively “Plan members”).

PERA's Information Security Lead is the agency's cybersecurity technical expert and assists the Chief Information Officer in overseeing information risk management for the organization. The Information Security Lead is responsible for establishing and maintaining the enterprise vision, strategy, and security program to ensure information assets and technologies are adequately protected. This position will lead the development, implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive information security management plan, agency security policies, and plans to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all information systems and data.
This role will:
- Set the agency's information security strategy and define objectives and metrics to measure the success of the information security plan
- Develop security architectures and roadmaps to protect the agency's IT infrastructure, applications and data
- Lead the creation of agency wide information security policies, processes, standards, guidelines and training
- Identify security risks and solutions for migration
- Manage, monitor and report on the strength of the agency's security controls
- Stay abreast of the latest security trends and threats to our business and assess potential impact on the security architecture
Once new hire training is complete, this position will primarily be telework. It is expected that in office hours will be at least one day a week on a biweekly basis for leadership meetings and then on an as needed basis as work dictates. Cost associated with travel to and from the office is the employee's responsibility.
