We will be kicking off a robust schedule of 2025 events in January with the Pension Communications Summit and Legislative Conference & Policy Day. We look forward to welcoming our members to Washington, DC for those two conferences (be sure to register now for early-bird pricing!).
But before we get to the new year, just a reminder that NCPERS membership needs to be renewed by December 31st to maintain access to all of our resources. Thanks to our many members that have already renewed! Don't hesitate to reach out to membership@ncpers.org with questions about your organization's status or the 2025 renewal process.
And for a reminder of the value of membership, please see below for our latest resources available to you.
Webinar: State and Federal Legislative Outlook for Public Pensions
Please make plans to join our webinar, State and Federal Legislative Outlook for Public Pensions, on December 5th to learn about the new political landscape for 2025 and the most critical state and federal issues to watch. Our panelists, Anthony Roda, partner at Williams and Jensen, and Angela Rowe, policy specialist at the National Conference of State Legislatures, will provide expert insights into the latest legislative proposals, analyze the potential impacts of the 2024 election results, and offer a preview of the upcoming 2025 Legislative Conference & Policy Day.

SECURE 2.0 Desk Reference for Governmental Plans Now Available
To help you understand the many ways the SECURE 2.0 Act will impact your plan, employees and retirees, NCPERS has developed SECURE 2.0: A Desk Reference for Governmental Plans. This new resource provides guidance on the provisions most likely to impact plan sponsors and trustees, includes action steps and amendment deadlines, and outlines IRS guidance on relevant provisions.
Every pension plan is required to make operational changes in order to be in compliance with mandatory provisions in the law, some of which took effect in 2022. This reference will be helpful in bringing your own plan in alignment with the new law.
New Virtual Roundtable for Pension Fund Government Affairs Professionals
The NCPERS virtual roundtables for pension plan professional staff have become extremely popular, with over 400 members participating regularly! For 2025 we will be launching a new Government Affairs Professionals Roundtable to allow members working in advocacy and external affairs to share their challenges and crowd-source solutions from peers.
The new Roundtable will meet during the 1st quarter of 2025, and we invite all pension fund staff responsible for advocacy efforts and building relationships with policymakers to participate by signing up here.
Please see this page of our website for information on all our NCPERS Roundtables for pension professionals, including CEOs, CIOs, and Directors of HR, Communications, and Members Services. Participation is free for NCPERS members!
Call for Speakers: Share Your Expertise at NCPERS Annual Conference & Exhibition
Members are invited to submit proposals for speaking roles at our 2025 Annual Conference & Exhibition (ACE), taking place May 18–21 in Denver, CO. Each year, ACE provides pension plan leaders with the essential knowledge and tools they need to navigate the unique challenges facing their organizations. Educational topics that provide valuable insights, innovative solutions, and practical strategies will be considered for inclusion in the conference program.
Ready to submit your idea? Simply complete this form with your session description and proposed speaker(s) by Monday, February 3rd. We look forward to seeing your submissions!
Access the 2024 Public Pension Compensation Survey
Thanks to over 150 public pensions that participated in the NCPERS-CBIZ 2024 Public Pension Compensation Survey, we have a deep database of compensation and bonus data for 88 common staff positions. Participating organizations already received the final report with insights into benefits and salary planning. View a sample here.
But NCPERS members that didn't participate can still order the survey report and also gain access to an interactive dashboard that filters the data by state, number of staff, assets under management, and more. The dashboard allows any pension to benchmark themselves against their peers to better understand how their compensation practices compare.
Please contact research@ncpers.org with any questions about this valuable research data.
Pension Industry Careers: Job Listings, Hiring, and Retirement Announcements
NCPERS maintains a homepage for all the latest industry job listings, new hires, and retirement announcements at our member pension funds, stakeholders, and service providers. You can always find the latest Pension Careers roundup here on our website.
We help our members promote their open positions or industry moves by raising awareness through broad network of contacts. If your organization has news about staff or is looking to hire, please send your announcement details to membership@ncpers.org for consideration.
