Retirement Security for All
The U.S. is facing an $8.5 trillion retirement crisis. Our ability as a nation to sustain our economy and manage the nation’s workforce should be an important part of our national debate, particularly when over the next 10 years a record number of workers will reach their retirement years. Retirement security for all Americans - whether they work in the public or private sector - must become a national priority. The Secure Choice Pension (SCP) plan would allow private companies and individuals to participate in a state-sponsored pension plan for the private sector. This model extends to all Americans the benefits of a proven, cost-effective retirement system that will provide guaranteed income for life in retirement. The SCP benefits include having more taxpaying, productive retirees rather than senior citizens becoming wards of the state who rely upon public assistance.
