Richard Ingram serves on the NCPERS exeuctive board and is a member of audit, by-laws, policy & resolutions, communications and education committee. He was first elected to the NCPERS executive board in 2019.
Ingram currently serves as the executive director of the Teachers’ Retirement System of Illinois. Illinois TRS provides retirement, disability, and survivor benefits to 400,000 members and has more than $52 billion in assets under management. Prior to joining Illinois TRS, Ingram led the New Hampshire Retirement System.
Ingram’s early career was in the Boston office of Arthur Andersen & Co., where his clients included investment firms, banks, and financial service companies. He has also led several non-profit and public service organizations in New England. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mr. Ingram holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Rhode Island, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
