NCPERS seeks to testify at Actuaries' Forum
August 18, 2008
The National Conference on Public Employee Retirement Systems has asked to testify before a public forum of the American Academy of Actuaries on September 4. The forum is convened by the Public Interest Committee of the Academy for the purpose of hearing from stakeholders in the debate over the disclosure of the market value of assets and liabilities in public pension plans. As the nation''s largest trade association representing Public Pension plans, NCPERS opposes the effort to require public funds to use a market value of liabilities approach to measuring the health of pension plans.
