Brendan McDonough joined GoldenTree Asset Management from DE Shaw where he worked for 9 years and was responsible for establishing the firms North American Public Pension investor base. Prior to DE Shaw, Brendan was a Senior Marketing Officer of the Public Funds Division at State Street Global Advisors. He also has served as a member of the board of trustees for the City of Boston Retirement Systems.

Brendan earned a JD from New England School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from University of Rochester. He is also a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Executive Training Program.

Brendan founded and continues to be actively involved in the charity, Project D.E.E.P., which provides underprivileged children in the Boston access to educational enrichment programs. He is also the founder of Project B.I.N.D. (Boston Inclusion Network for Disabilities), which provides athletic and social inclusion opportunities for children and young adults with physical and intellectual disabilities.
