Professional Bio
Thad McTigue serves as a member of the NCPERS executive board. He was elected to the NCPERS Executive Board in 2026.
Since March of 2014, Thad McTigue has been privileged to serve as the Deputy Executive Director for the Teachers’ Retirement System of the City of New York (TRS). TRS provides over 220,000 active and retired New York City educators with retirement, disability, and death benefit services. In addition to the Qualified Pension Plan, TRS also administers one of the largest 403(b) Tax-Deferred Annuity Programs in the country. As Deputy Executive Director, Thad works closely with the TRS Executive Director, trustees and other senior managers on operational activities and implementation of the strategic direction of the System.
Prior to TRS, Thad served in senior pension benefit administration and asset management positions in New York City and New York State government. Most recently, he served as Executive Director for Pensions where he had the honor to represent Comptrollers of the City of New York before the New York City pension funds.
Thad holds a B.A. from SUNY Cortland.
