Gallagher Benefit Services (GBS), Inc. is one of the largest employee health benefits consulting firms in the Rocky Mountain region, and is a subsidiary of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., among the country's largest insurance consultant/brokers. The Colorado office specializes in large public sector health and defined contribution retirement plan consulting. Areas of sub-specialization include self-funding, cafeteria plans, CDHPs, and health actuarial services, including GASB 45. For many years, Gallagher Benefit Services has managed and marketed the NCPERS Group Voluntary Life Insurance Plan, which they designed for NCPERS in 1969. GBS also designed and markets the new NCPERS Family Protection Plus Plan (FPPP) Group Voluntary Life Plan, especially designed for public safety retirement systems, which does not require payroll deductions for premium payments.
