John Neal

john-neal-photoJohn Neal serves as a member of the NCPERS executive board. He was first elected to the NCPERS executive board in 2018.
 
Neal currently serves as trustee and vice chairman of the Arkansas Local Police and Fire Retirement System (LOPFI). LOPFI provides retirement, disability, and survivor benefits to 29,700 members and has 2.045 billion dollars in assets under management. He serves as the chair of the audit committee and is a member of the administrative services and finance committees.
 
Neal served as a firefighter and union chief for 26 years for the Harrison Fire Department. He continues to serve with the International Association of Fire Fighters and the Arkansas Professional Fire Fighters (APFF) 14th district. He was a trustee with the APFF for 12 years and currently serves on the pension and constitutional and bylaws committee. He served 12 years as local 2995 president and secretary treasurer. Neal has spent over 20 years lobbying for firefighter safety and pension initiatives at both the state and national level.
 
Neal received his NCPERS Accredited Fiduciary (AF) certification in 2017.
