MAINTAINING YOUR AF DESIGNATION
Maintaining your AF designation is easy. A minimum of 45 hours of continuing education credits is required in three years. You can obtain these hours by attending any NCPERS conference or CE Approved Provider program:

 
Legislative Conference (earn up to 6 CE hours)
Trustee Educational Seminar (earn up to 12 CE hours) 
Program for Advanced Trustee Studies (earn up to 8 CE hours)
Annual Conference & Exhibition (earn up to 15 CE hours)
Chief Officers Summit (earn up to 14 CE hours)
Public Pension Funding Forum (earn up to 10 CE hours)
Public Safety Conference (earn up to 14 CE hours)
FALL Conference (earn up to 14 CE hours)

CE Approved Providers List

AF RECERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
In order to maintain your AF status, you must meet the following requirements:
  1. Earn a minimum of forty-five (45) hours of continuing education (CE) credits within three (3) years (an average of 15 hours per year). 30 of your CE hours must come from NCPERS sponsored events.
  2. Submit your renewal application and 45 hours of continuing education (CE) at the end of your 3 year cycle.
  3. Submit the renewal payment fee of $100.
