Program for Advanced Trustee Studies (PATS)

The Program for Advanced Trustee Studies (PATS) is a two day program designed for advanced trustees who seek a more intensive, in-depth learning experience. Held annually during the Annual Conference & Exhibition, each year’s program will focus on two topics of particular importance to pension plan trustees, enabling participants to dig deeper and fully explore issues with their counterparts from around the nation. Topics may include ethics, legal developments, and alternative investments, among other timely themes.

This unique program, developed more than a decade ago in consultation with Harvard Law School, is formatted to foster dialogue and interaction among attendees.

PATS attendees can earn up to eight (10) hours of continuing education credits.

The Program for Advanced Trustee Studies (PATS) is held in conjunction with the Annual Conference & Exhibition. Separate registration fees apply.

Due to the global pandemic we are currently experiencing with COVID-19, we have decided to cancel the 2020 Annual Conference and Exhibition (ACE) scheduled for May 9 - 13 in Las Vegas, and all related programs held in conjunction with this event (i.e. the Trustee Educational Seminar, Program for Advanced Trustee Studies and the NCPERS Accredited Fiduciary program).

In the current environment, it's important for all of us to conduct business smarter and more diligently as we consider the health and safety of our members and NCPERS team.

If you have registered and paid for any of the above programs or sponsored an activity, we will be issuing reimbursements immediately. If you have any questions or concerns, please email

If you made a hotel reservation at Caesars Palace please call them to cancel at 1-866-227-5944.

Thank you for your continued support of NCPERS.

Stay healty and safe everyone!
