NCPERS 2.0 reflects not only how far we've come, but where we're headed. It's built on the same foundation of advocacy, research, and education that has guided us for 85 years, but with modern tools to help you succeed in an increasingly complex environment.

Happy New Year! As we step into 2026, NCPERS proudly celebrates 85 years of serving public pensions. Since our founding in 1941, our mission has remained steadfast: to protect and expand pension access, ensuring secure retirements for millions of dedicated public servants.
Over the decades, the world—and our industry—has transformed. When I joined NCPERS in 2003, the economy was recovering from the dot-com bubble. Since then, we've weathered the Global Financial Crisis, a global pandemic, and multiple market highs and lows. These experiences have made public pensions more resilient and battle-tested than ever before. Today, the word I'd use to describe our industry is evolving. And NCPERS is evolving right alongside it.
Our members have told us what they need: more resources, more education, and easier ways to connect. We've listened. Over the past two decades, we've expanded our programs, grown our staff, and created new opportunities for peer-to-peer learning. Now, as we celebrate our 85th anniversary, we're taking the next big step forward.
This year, we're proud to introduce NCPERS 2.0—a transformation that goes beyond a new logo. It's a complete reimagining of how we serve you. At the heart of this evolution is our new website and database, designed to make your experience more intuitive, informative, and interactive.
Launching mid-January, the platform has been rebuilt to make it easier to navigate, simpler to access your member benefits, and more effective at connecting you with the resources that matter most. The new website will put enhanced tools for sharing information and building relationships at your fingertips.
On launch day, members will receive an email announcing that the new site is live. Our web address, www.ncpers.org, will remain the same. Please keep an eye on your inbox in mid-January for step-by-step instructions when the site goes live.
