INCLEMENT WEATHER CANCELLATION: NCPERS Legislative Forum & Policy Day

NCPERS always puts the safety and wellbeing of our community first. With a severe winter storm forecasted to create dangerous travel conditions in Washington, D.C. and across much of the U.S. this weekend, we have made the difficult decision to cancel NCPERS 2026 Legislative Forum & Policy Day.
We know how valuable this event is for trustees, administrators, and plan leaders who look forward to connecting directly with policymakers and peers. While we share in the disappointment, we believe this is the most responsible choice to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
Next Steps and Requested Actions:
- Attendees must cancel their own hotel reservations directly with the hotel to avoid no show or cancellation penalties by today (Friday, January 23) to avoid a no-show fee. Please call The Westin DC Downtown directly at (202) 898-9000. NCPERS is not responsible for any hotel or travel-related charges.
- All registered attendees will be able to choose between receiving a full refund of their registration fee OR applying the fee as a credit toward a future NCPERS program. Please complete this online form indicating your preference. Refunds will be issued in the coming weeks.
If you have any questions, please reach out to registration@ncpers.org or call 202-601-2445.
Our team is exploring alternative ways to deliver timely policy insights. We apologize for any inconvenience and will provide additional updates as soon as they are available.
Thank you,
The NCPERS Staff
